Penn State finally wins 1st B10 Game
The monkey is finally off Penn State's back as the Nittany Lions (9-16, 1-12 in B10) rolled past Northwestern, 81-70, in Evanston, Ill. to provide a blow to the Wildcats' NCAA tournament hopes.
David Jackson and Chris Babb led the way with 20 points apiece as Penn State ended a 12-game losing skid and won its first game of 2010. The Lions have now defeated Northwestern (17-9, 6-8 in B10) in seven of the last eight meetings between the two schools. The two schools face off again on Sunday, February 28 at the Bryce Jordan Center.
PSU registered five players (Jackson, Babb, Jeff Brooks, Andrew Jones and Talor Battle), in double figures in arguably the team's most complete victory of the season.
